Weekly wrap-up
Mon: 2 Wildwood laps with Nate and Mark. Progressively picked up the pace after the 4th mile and felt really smooth for the first time in quite a while.
Tues: Biked at LA Fitness and lifted
Wed: 9 miles with Jon around Camp hill. While we were generally running pretty slow, my HR was the lowest I’ve seen it in a while. I think my some of my fitness is returning.
Thu: Was planning on either biking or doing 1 Wildwood loop. Ended up joining Ryan and Mark for 2 loops. Coming down with a cold, I hope it breaks soon.
Fri: Worked on presentation from after dinner Thurs night until 1:30 AM. Woke up at 5:00 AM to drive to 4 hours to Pittsburgh. Met with customer until just before 5:00 PM. Drive home took about 4 hours. Totally exhausted.
Sat: Ran 12 miles with Ryan on the Conewago trail in about 1:43:30 (8:48 pace). Garmin called it a bit short due to the tunnel right before the turnaround at 6 miles. Weather was a bit warm. Might need to start long runs earlier in the morning when it is cooler.
Sun: Woke up really early and watched some of London Marathon streaming video. After watching some awesome racing I was tempted to run, but don’t want to push it after my long run yesterday. My wife and I were going to leave for NYC around 9:00 to see “Legally Blond” on Broadway (which was pretty good), so I ended up doing a quick bike warm-up and lifting routine at LA Fitness. I felt kind of hard-core being one of about 6-8 people waiting for LA Fitness to unlock the doors at 8am.
Plans for next week: Keep slowly adding mileage. Will only do a mini-taper for LVHM since it is no longer an “A” race.
